I was just notified that I didn't get accepted into the grad school program I really, really wanted into.

They only accepted 7 people out of a pool of over 100 applicants (their largest ever apparently). Damn I wish I was one of those lucky 7.

Now I need a new plan for What To Do With My Life.

Sitting around charging some of my many things that require charging (I really need to set up a charging station for the laptop, cellphone, ipod, camera, kindle, and GPS) and thought I'd give a quick long, rambly update.

Seriously enjoying this summer. I've always really loved summer, but there's something in the air or something. I've actually mentioned to a couple people that it's sort of like when you're 15 and on summer break and have zero responsibilities. I still have a job and bills and need to finish my grad school app, but it doesn't feel like it.

Random news from me:

I was in this random weight-loss challenge (which we totally lost) and of one the prizes was a gift card to a local bike shop. Before we lost, I went shopping and test rode and fell in total lust with this bike:

Applied to another job that seems pretty awesome; almost exactly what I'm looking for. Something I'm qualified for. And, we'll see if I get any response whatsoever from them. (My experience has been that if I meet or slightly exceed their qualifications, they do not respond, not even with a "sorry, we're going in another direction" email ( Read more... )

So I've applied to at least a dozen jobs @ OSU over the years. And have never received a response or anything ever. Until today. I recevied an email for an Associate Editor position. It's just a basic "We're reviewing applications and wanted to let you know.."blah blah ( Read more... )

Went to a pretty* sweet party tonight with a few college friends. Some who were really good friends, some who were sort of friends by approximation. But TWO of those friends asked me to come work w/ their bands (they're band directors - these were all friends from music school days).
